Hi,

 

I've just installed my Deco M5 a few days ago, and here is my setup:

 

1st Floor

- Main Deco (Living Room)

 

2nd Floor 

- 2nd Deco (Bedroom)

- Bedroom has LG Smart TV (2020 model)

 

When I am in my bedroom (connected to 2nd Deco), I can turn on/off my TV using my smartphone with HomeKit and the TV's app (LG ThinQ). 


However, when I go down to the living room (connected to Main Deco), my smartphone cannot detect the TV anymore, thus being unable to turn on/off my TV from downstairs. Homekit and the TV's app displays the status "No Response" and "Disconnected" respectively. 
 

I was under the impression that I can control my TV from anywhere in the house since I'm supposed to be in the SAME wifi network. Am I doing something wrong here? What should I do to address this?

Hello,

 

May I know the working mode of the main Deco M5, is it in router mode or AP mode? How about your network layout, is there any switch?

 

Is the LG Smart TV connected to the main network or guest network of the 2nd Deco? Is it connected to the 2.4G or 5G?

Thank you for your response! Here are my answers:

 

Deco Working Mode: Router

 

Network Layout: No Switch (modem connected to Main Deco, 1st floor)

 

LG TV: Connected to main network of the 2nd Deco, 2nd Floor. No guest network has been setup. Connected to 2.4G. (Note: Both 2.4G and 5G are enabled.)

Have you tested with different phones by connecting to the main Deco? Is the phone connected to 2.4G or 5G?
