Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.8 Build 20190917 Rel. 76172

Hi,

Im having lots of errors in my main deco.

Where can i learn about the errors?

Here's some examples:

@magne

Confirmed. Disabling Fast Roaming gets rid of the error messages.

It also improves pingspeed dramaticly. Enables resulted in 33% packet loss on my M4S system.

It also cured a problem I had with my laptop that couldnt find/ping the TP-Link TL-R605 Router resulting in not having a DNS resolve.

Hello,

For the daemon.err log display issue, it is normal and shows the status of the activities of the Deco devices.

Do you encounter any issue with the Deco M4 network? If yes, please confirm some basic info so that we can speed up the whole process and offer a solution:

1. What is the model number of the switch in your network? Is the main Deco M4 working as router and the other two as Access Points?

2. Is there any issue with the Deco network? How about the LED status on the three M4s?

Thanks.

Thanks for answering me.

I am not sure if I am having issues with the network. It is sometimes unstable, but so are most wifi? My thought was that the wifi could perhaps perform better if I fixed the errors in the log.

You are saying that the errors are not errors. Then, what ARE errors, what is the point in filtering the log like this: ?

Do you have any resource explaing the meaning of log entries? That would be helpful.

Anyway My setup is:

The main deco is acting as a router. It is connected with cable to a switch. From the switch two slave-decos are connected with cable.

Solid white led on all tree decos. The switch is an netgear wndr3700v4 (fw, dhcp, wifi, filtering are all disabled making it transparent and dumb)

Couple of days ago i upgraded to the new fw 1.4.0 Build 20200628 Rel. 48846.

Attached is the newest log. Does it seems normal?

Best regards Magne.

@magne - I have a very similar setup and have started experiencing unstable newtork performance.  I have 3 Deco S4 set up with the main one connected to the router, then to a Netgear switch and the other two Deco wired to the switch as satellites.

My network seems to stall for a few minutes (wifi connections are ok but no internet access) then access is re-established.  When I check the logs, I get critical errors:

I've tried to get Tp-Link support but the only suggestion so far was to change one of the satellites to be the main device and swap them about.  I've done this but still getting the errors (and interrupted connection)

@TP-Link_Deco - would be very grateful if you could shine a light on the problem and how to solve it.

@Gfire I dont know what your errors means.

But one thing you could check, do you have the common ping problem many deco owners have? The problem is that every 10 sec the ping latency goes up to about 1000ms. Making surfing slow and playing online useless.

try pinging the router every second for 5 minutes. The latency should always be less than 1ms.

(i fixed my ping problem by disable fast roaming. The fast roaming is not much faster anyway.)

I think its resonable for TP-link to provide a resouce to advanced users on the erros within the logs mean and what steps could possibly be taken to reslove said errors.

TP-LINK SUPPORT CAN YOU PLEASE PROVIDE THIS?
