DECO M5/M9 - AP Mode w/Ethernet Backhaul - Any impact to single SSID, controlling client handoffs?
Hi folks,
I am considering purchasing DECO M5 or M9 Plus.
I have a house with concrete walls and foil-backed isulation, which greatly complicates wifi singalling.
I do have ethernet in every room and ran back to a 32-p switch.
My intention would be to;
- purchase a 3-set M5 or M9 plus
- run them in AP Mode,
- with Ethernet backhaul, each M5/9 connected into the switched network.
My primary router/DHCP is a Hawuei 658c (Vodafone)
I currently have a series of different-generation TP-Link APs running as individual AP SSIDs on nonoverlapping 2.4 channels.
QUESTIONS:
1- I understand many MESH features will be unavailable, but considering AP mode and TP-Link controller software, is there ANY impact to AP seamless handoff for roaming on the same SSID for client devices?
2- Are any DECO Controller--AP management and spectrum steering/optimization between APs lost/impacted?
Thank you!
James
