1. Open System Preferences -> Security & Privacy
2. Then open PowerlineUtility.dmg, and then please verify whether there is a message that “’tpPLC’ was blocked from opening because it is not from an identified developer.” at the Security & Privacy window. If so, press "Open Anyway" button, input User Name and Password. Then press "Modify Settings", then check whether tpPLC will work.
May it help.

Hi thanks for looking into this ...
but unfortunately that did not the trick ...
the ERROR MESSAGE persists -
it says :
"tpPLC.app" cannot be opened because APPLE CANNOT SCAN IT FOR MALWARE"
This Software has to be updated. Please contact the developer for further information".
Chrome has downloaded this file on November 25 from support.tp-link.com"
Any thoughts ?

@Kevin_Z I appreciate any sense of humor ... but unfortunately your link contains no solution -seems like a bad joke - sorry.
I hope this is not how your brand is treating customer concerns? Aren't you?

Morning, please can I join the queue waiting for an updated version of tpPLC that'll run on macOS 10.15.x ( aka Catalina ) ?
I did try the download link referenced previously: -
https://static.tp-link.com/2019/201911/20191128/PowerlineUtility-ForMACOS.zip
Initially, whilst I was able to open the .dmg file, I saw this: -
“tpPLC” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.
when trying to run the enclosed tpPLC application BUT I did check System Preferences -> Security & Privacy, and saw the prompt to "Open anyway" for the application.
It's now running, albeit with the "Confidential - Only For Test" background :-)
Therefore, happy to wait a little longer to get a pukka supported version.
Thanks and Happy New Year to all, cheers, Dave

Hello,
Can you please also let me know when an update is available?
I am able to get that beta software installed, and it does open with a "Confidential Only For Test" background, but unfortunately it doesn't recognize my powerline adapters.
I've tried using the "Add Device" button and entering powerline keys from the backs of the adapters, but nothing works.
(I'm a bit frustrated at how much upkeep and troubleshooting seems to be necessary with TP-link products--glad I just bought my new router from someone else, to be honest!).
Thanks!

I'm lucky in that the beta version appears to work with my way-old Powerline adapters, specifically: -
- TL-PA2010P Version 1.0
- TL-WPA281 Version 3.0
- TL-PA211
but I'm still keen to get the pukka GA version when it's available !
Cheers, Dave
