Firmware downgrade from 1.2.8 to 1.2.4
Hey ya'll,
I am having many issues after latest FW upgrade (1.2.8) that I related in this post
tl;dr: Some of my devices unable to connect to the network: "No internet connection", some of them are required to re-enter password but it won't work.
Rebooting the main deco will solve it for the next few hours, but all of these issues came like a few days ago.
I want to downgrade the firmware version of both my decos to 1.2.4 as I had when I bought it.
TP-Link is offering the FW version to download but I couldn't find instructions on how to manually install older FW..
Hopefully I will find my answer here.
Thanks!

Kevin,
Thank you for emailing me the latest version. But, as I am using the MacBook, there is a problem using the upgrade_GDPR software- the button is not working!!
Here is what it looks like:
In windows I get error when clicking on the upgrade button (error is in my comment above)

Hi,
Uninstall the current upgrade tool first, and the download link I sent contains a package of files, including the firmware, the manual upgrade tool and the upgrade instruction.
You can install this one and give it a go, and please enter these info as needed.
Any updates, just let me know.
Good day.

Hi Kevin,
This is not an installation. In Mac, you simply just open the program. And yes, I am using the latest you sent me in the mail and the screenshot was taken from the latest version.
The upgrade_GDPR is unusable

"upgrade_GDPR.exe" is a Windows program. You need to run it in "cmd" window.
See attached Word file for instruction.

Thanks for the tip!
I did try last night but I had a trouble doing that:
When I entered all the fields, the program kinda got stuck.
How did you connect to the Deco?
Mine is build like this:
Router <---> Deco
and the Windows computer is connected to the Deco's Wi-Fi.
Is this the correct way to do it?

If I recall correctly, the .bin file needs to be in the same folder of the "upgrade_GDPR.exe" program. In OSX, you may need to ensure the 2 files are in the same folder.

My 3 M5 are setup in this way: - modem -> Main M5 (router) ---> 2 M5 as nodes.
Did you see the Physical MAC Addresses of the M5s?
In Windows cmd, run the 2 commands (see attached Word doc).
for /l %a in (1,1,254) do @start......
arp -a
Basically, I followed the Word instruction in Windows. I managed to get it done!
