I have a router with the modem built in. Should I connect the Deco mesh unit to the WAN or LAN port on the router?

I am unable to access my router to switch off the old Wi-Fi since installing Deco M5. Do I need to unplug the Deco unit from the router to access the router settings? If so, would the deco start...
