@Justin35 the CPE comes factory set to 192.168.0.254 and returns to that IP address when you reset it. Your laptop cannot be set to that same IP address. I suggest setting your laptop to 192.168.0.10...

@bongobob What you're suggesting should work just fine. I have personally done something similar where I have a 710 bridge set up between the cable modem and the router.
