Hi all.

My normal DSL sync is around 46000 for downstream and 7500 for upstream which gives me 43 mbps down and 7.2 mbps up on any speedtest website any time WITHOUT Bandwidth Control enabled.

I enabled Bandwidth control on my TP-Link TD-W998 due to high bufferbloat when others use the bandwidth. Set it up as on the attachment file below. I expected to lose 3 mbps download speed and 0.5 mbps of upload as I entered 43000 and 7000 in bandwidth control but somehow the maximum speed on speedtest is 33 mbps down and 5.8 mbps up. It seems like it eats 7 mbps down and over 1mbps up for some reason. Why is that? There were no other devices or me using the internet while performing the tests.

Speed test without BC disabled.

and with it enabled.

If the bandwidth is enabled, the data will go through CPU.
CPU will control the bandwidth to each client and will do a lot of calculate.
So it will cause decrease of the bandwidth.

If not necessary, you can disable bandwidth control.
