Should I use Wi-Fi Antenna Extension Cable RP-SMA with TD-W8961ND Modem Router ?

As my modem router is quite far away from my room, I was thinking of removing an antenna and attaching this cable to the antenna and the modem.
Will it benefit me in any means?? Should I spend money in buying this cable.
