Model : TL-WA801ND

Hardware Version : V2

Firmware Version : Unsure

ISP : Not relevant

I've been unable to configure my WA801ND through the use of the ehternet port on the back. I'm trying to use it in client mode to act as a internet adapter for the building's wireless network. These are the things i've done so far; disabled both windows firewall and AVG antivirus, i've also gone into the (TCP/ipv4) configuration of my Realtek PCIe BGE Family Controller and changed my static ip to 192.168.0.2 with the standard subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, i've also tried setting the AP's default ip (192.168.0.254) as the gateway but doing this made no difference. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Note: i've tried changing my static ip to several different ip's in the same range as the router, 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.100 have been tried aswell

As to WA801ND v2.1, DHCP is enabled in default settings. To login its web interface, we don't have to configure a static IP on your PC.

Change IP settings on your PC to DHCP. Hard reset your WA801ND. Check if IP address will be obtained automatically. Try to login again.

Thank you for the response, I tried what you said but it still wont work, i'm unable to identify the network and my computer is not being assigned to an ip address. I did turn off both the windows firewall and avg antivirus prior to trying to access the network.
Does a hard reset require me to hold the reset button for a set amount of time, or is a second sufficient?

Keep holding the reset button for more than 10 seconds and let it go.
If it is the same, try to get a replacement under warranty.
