Region : Turkey

Model : TD-W8980

Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version : 0.6.0 0.6 v000e.0 Build 130304 Rel.38108n

ISP : TTNET

Oh great wireless router gurus,

I'm relatively sure my router is acting normally, but I'm having a problem.

I've installed a local server on a computer in our network and every time I try to navigate to it, the router intercepts the connection and directs me to its admin panel.

I've tried using both our local ip and external ip and they both suffer the same fate.

I can access the site everywhere but from inside our LAN.

I tried changing the IP of the router (under Network >> LAN Settings) but that broke the internet.

I'm totally lost.

Please help.

What's the IP address of the server and W8980?
The server is using port 80 or any other one?
W8980 is working as a modem router or just a router?
To change IP address of the router should not disconnect the internet but it will reboot. If you have no internet now, is there WAN IP address on Satus page?

Hello Tony,

Thank you for your fast answer.

Concerning the server, it's local IP is 192.168.1.101 From the internet, our application can be accessed at http://88.247.135.100/activecollab/public/index.php but, like I said, inside the LAN this address resolves to the router's admin panel >:(

The server is currently set up as a DMZ with the router. Does this answer your question about port 80?

I believe this is being used as both a modem and a router, as it's the first point of contact for our internet. Internally, we've got a switch connected to this router/modem then our computers connected to that switch. Some are connected directly to the router's WIFI.

Perhaps it's worth mentioning that I can see Apache running with the "It works!" message when I navigate to 192.168.1.101 locally, but as soon as I add the 192.168.1.101/activecollab/public/index.php I'm redirected to the router's admin panel.

I changed the router's IP back, so I'm not sure what it said. I have to take the whole company's internet down to do that so if that's the right thing to do, I'll do it, but I would prefer not to bug everyone too much :)

I hope I helped clarify things. Please let me know what other information I could give you.

Thanks again!
Ross

I've learned that what I'm looking for is 'loopback'

I found this thread on the TP-forums http://forum.tp-link.com/showthread.php?2346-Td-w8980&highlight=loopback

But there appears to be no current solution???

Is loopback possible on the TD-W8980? If not, what can we buy to achieve this?

Thanks -
Ross

Ross, W8980 supports NAT loopback indeed. Did you try http://88.247.135.100/ instead of http://88.247.135.100/activecollab/public/index.php in external network?

OK, let me break this down to what works and what doesn't

WAN: (external access)
http://88.247.135.100/activecollab/public/index.php WORKS
http://88.247.135.100/ WORKS

LAN: (internal access)
http://88.247.135.100/activecollab/public/index.php ROUTER ADMIN PANEL
http://88.247.135.100/ ROUTER ADMIN PANEL
http://192.168.1.101/activecollab/public/index.php ROUTER ADMIN PANEL
http://192.168.1.101/ WORKS

The ONLY time I want to see the router admin panel is navigating to it at 192.168.1.1 -- how can I make that happen?
