Hello.

I need to add a new cpl satellite to an already decoPx50 set up network.
Since PX50 isn't available as a single unit, what is your advice ?
PGW2440 share the same cpl protocol but it seems that it can't connect to a PX50, is this true ?
What kind of device can you advice me ?

Thnak you.

Hi, welcome to the community.

If you need a PLC Deco Mesh unit, Deco PX50 might be the only choice.

But if a wireless Mesh unit is also acceptable or you can connect this extra Deco unit via an Ethernet cable to the nearby PX50, all Deco models are suitable for this situation. A single Deco X50 Will be a good choice.

For the PGW2440, you need to purchase a kit- PGW2440 KIT. The master unit will be wired into one of the PX50, and the extender will talk to the master over the powerline. The wireless network from PGW2440 will be an individual network compared to the Deco PX50 Mesh system.

For more details, you could refer to General Questions about the Powerline or PLC Backhaul Feature of Deco

Best regards.

hello david.

Thanks for your answer.
Well I need a single device that can't be connected via Wi-Fi so à x50 will not be the one. As far as I know px50 aren't available in single units, so at the price buying a set of two is somehow throwing money by the window.
There is a real need here and I am

sure I am not the only one in this case for a single device to be added via the plc backhaul of the px50 deco that can extend the Wi-Fi to an inaccessible area.
please 'motivate' tp-link engineers /managers in this way.
I feel like after choosing the px50 (that is a great solution by the way) I have no choice for upgrading my network I am locked in. Not a good thing at all for the price invested.

regards.
