I currently rely on wired backhaul for my Deco setup. Although I appreciate the Wireless Backhaul feature when the wired connection is unplugged or fails—ensuring the network isn’t entirely down—I’ve noticed that when the managed switch is rebooted, the Deco system automatically switches to using Wireless Backhaul on 5GHz and 6GHz, leading to increased latency. From my understanding, the Deco system should automatically prefer wired backhaul when both wired and wireless options are available. It would be great to have a toggle to manually disable Wireless Backhaul, ensuring the network remains on wired connections when available.

Hi, Thanks for the feedback.

It is planned to add an on/off toggle for Wireless Backhaul.

"When the managed switch is rebooted, the Deco system automatically switches to using Wireless Backhaul on 5GHz and 6GHz"

I think since the reboot hasn't been completed, Deco units haven't detected the Ethernet connection yet. Would they revert to Ethernet Backhaul after the switch is fully recovered?

Thank you and best regards.

Thanks for confirming that this feature will be added in the future firmware release. Can you tell me in which firmware version I can try this? I'm happy to test and debug if needed.

To answer your question, no, I waited for three hours after the managed switch is restarted and back online and unfortunately, the affected Deco satellites are still using Wireless Backhaul even though the Wired network has been up and stable for a couple of hours.

However, when I restart the satellite Deco, it reverts to Wired Backhaul, but this is not ideal as restarting the Deco means it'll kick all the connected users off the Wi-Fi.

Critical for those who rely on Wired Backhaul and don't want added latency that Wireless Backhaul caused.
