Model: Archer VR600
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: Archer VR600(EU)_V2_170504

Hi,

i have issue with the VR600 router,

network topology: VR600 as main router with DHCP enabled, Access point(another VR600 configured as AP) connected to the router with cable and the same SSID and Password.

Issue: when going back and forward between Main router WIFI and AP WIFI in the house, the connection to the LAN device in the house from the wifi device is not working.

if i send ping from the WiFi pc to another device on the network it will work at the beginning but after moving from AP WiFi to MAIN router WIFI it will stop working until i go back to AP WiFi again, its big problem because i cant communicate with other device on the network, for example the TV app don't work because there is no communication.

* isolation is turn off in both router and AP

please help solving this issue,

Thanks,

Eli.

What method did you use to configure VR600 in AP mode ?

Here's the oficial method to do that - if you used another configuration, it's recommended to reset the VR600, configure from scratch and test again.

Keep VR600 in DSL modem router mode when configuring its AP mode.

thanks for the help,

I follow your guidance, with no success, it still not connecting to local device in the LAN network. Is there anything else I can do?

Did you reset the VR600 before you start with the configuration ? Disable VR600 DHCP server and its IPTV.

There's nothing more you can do except to update VR600 firmware to the latest one from here and test again.

This scenario has been proved working in this thread.

Did you reset the VR600 before you start with the configuration?  - Yes

There's nothing more you can do except to update VR600 firmware to the latest one from here and test again. - Did it, didn't helped

This scenario has been proved working in this thread. - i don't think its the same issue, i have internet connection from all devices, i don't have link to LAN network(only device that connected by cable, i have link to device that connected by WIFI) from WIFI device after moving from AP WiFi to Main router WiFi, the issue is not in AP device its in the Main router routing table, i believe it getting the ping i send from the WiFi device but it don't pass the ping to the destination(saw it in Wireshark), i believe if you try it in LAB you will see the issue your self, my friend have the VR600 V3 version(he saw the same issue) and he told me move the DHCP server from the VR600 to solve the issue but i want the management capability that the VR600 have.

Thanks for your help,

Eli.

" my friend have the VR600 V3 version(he saw the same issue) and he told me move the DHCP server from the VR600 to solve the issue but i want the management capability that the VR600 have. "

So, did you or did you not disable VR600 DHCP server ?

In the guide I posted in my first post, it is clearly stated that you should do that if you want to set VR600 in AP mode

In AP mode you should have only one DHCP server active - the one on your main router. Otherwise the result could be unpredictable.

So, did you or did you not disable VR600 DHCP server ? - i was talking about the main Router Not the AP Device, in the AP i removed the DHCP server like in the guide,

again, the Issue is in the Main Router and Not in AP device

In case of AP mode the second VR600 LAN IP address is in the same network subnet as your main VR600.

So the main VR600 doesn't do any routing to reach a device connected to the second VR600.

Post a screenshots of the network Interface Grouping for both VR600:

All network interfaces (LAN1 - LAN4, Wi-Fi_2.4G and Wi-Fi_5G) should be in the same interface group - Default, i.e. they should be bridged.

The issue is communication between WIFI device to cable connected device, there is no ping between them after moveing from AP WIFI to the Main Router WIFI.

so after i once been in the AP WIFI and moved to MAIN router WiFi the communication between WIFI device to cable connected device is gone

*this is my intreface Grouping from both the router and AP

Something's wrong here - there's no LAN4 port as part of the default interface group.

Are you sure that both your VR600 are in DSL Modem Router Mode (or at least the one you're setting in AP mode) ?
