Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hi, I just installed a new set of Deco X10 access points. Whenever Zscaler is connected basically I cannot access a lot of different sites. If I turn Zscaler off, my browsing works as expected.

I have seen numerous issues posted about with Deco firmware and Zscaler but it doesn't appear that there is any resolution for this published for the X10. This is impacting my ability to work so if rather frustrating.

Firmware is 1.0.5

build 20231221

Hi, can you constantly reproduce this issue?

"Whenever Zscaler is connected basically I cannot access a lot of different sites. If I turn Zscaler off, my browsing works as expected. "

-By the way, did you have this issue on different mobile clients?

Did you set Deco X10 into "Access Point" mode or "Wireless Router" mode?

Can I have some pictures of the current network map on the Deco APP:

Wait for your reply.

Yes, I can easily recreate it. Basically whenever Zscaler Internet Access is turned on, a lot of sites don't work. As soon as I turn it off, the sites begin to work immediately.

I've had our Zscaler team look at it and I am using the same profile others are which is working for them, plus also it works fine on other wifi networks.

Just confirming it is in Router mode.

There are also a couple of M4's in the network.

I previously had one of the M4's in Access Point mode attached to a Google Mesh Wifi and didn't have these issues. I then replaced the Google Mesh Wifi with the X10's and changed to router mode so I could use more of the advanced features on the Deco platform as I was removing Google Wifi. This is when the problems started...

Is it possible to get an update on this please

It appears to be a known issue with Deco in Router mode which is spot fixed rather than has been fixed across the product line so I assume you can tell me how to resolve this

  @NotsosureTP

Hi, Thanks for your time and patience.

Currently, there hasn't been a beta firmware for Deco X10/M4. The case has been forwarded to the engineers to check whether there is any other workaround.

Please check the email later for more suggestions.

Best regards.

  @David-TP hi David

from what I can see this is at least a 2yr old problem with the Deco platform. Why are Beta firmware releases still required to address this?

My guess is the SPI firewall is causing issues, hence some suggestions that switching to Access Point mode addresses the issue.

is there a way to turn SPI off so I can test this?

thanks

I've now moved the Main Deco to be the X10 however the issue persists.

There seems to be a fundamental issue with Deco X10, M4 and other models cannot forward DTLS traffic (i.e. this isn't Zscaler specific, it is any DTLS traffic)

I have updated the support ticket and am awaiting a response, however updating this thread for others experiencing issues with the platform.
