AV1300 Adapter Shuts Off Randomly

AV1300 Adapter Shuts Off Randomly
Thursday

Hi there,

Purchased an AV1300 powerline wifi kit, and managed to get everything set up correctly and working, but then randomly the adapter at the WiFi router just turns itself off after 20 to 30 minutes. I have turned off power saving mode and yet the adapter just shuts itself down with no LED lights or anything. I have to unplug it and re-plug it to re-boot back up.

My inclination is that the adaptor is faulty and should be returned but has anyone else had this problem before and resolved it? Is there potentially something happening that would prompt the adapter to turn itself off?

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Cheers,

JesterSierra

Hi  @JesterSierra,

If you are experiencing an unstable internet connection on your TP-Link powerline devices, or the Powerline LED frequently turns off, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
    1. Move the powerline extender closer to the router and the powerline adapter. Placing them in the same room for testing.
2 Test the internet connection by connecting your client devices directly to the main router. This will help determine if the issue is specific to the powerline connection or if it's a problem with the router itself.
    3. If the problem seems to be isolated to a specific client device, try connecting that device to a different network to see if the issue persists. Additionally, you can try using different Ethernet cables or ports for wired client devices to rule out any potential cable or port issues.

Hi Joseph, thanks for the message.

I have tried all that and the same result happens. For clarity, the wifi extenders in the rooms work perfectly fine and maintain their connection for as long as the adapter at the router is on.

It is the adapter at the router that turns off completely, and I do not mean just the single "powerline" LED goes out, I mean all three LEDs go out, the entire adapter itself shuts down and goes dead.

Is it standard for the adapter to go completely dead with no power whatsoever? Or is this a hardware issue?

Cheers,

JesterSierra
