Model: Deco M9 Plus
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.6.4 build 20240718 rel 76925

I am having problems with two of my slave units disconnecting from mesh. It is very random, sometimes it it one unit sometimes it is both slaves.

I have my master unit connected to router in hall way on the ground floor.

The living room slave unit is on the same floor in adjacent room, about 20ft away.

The Master bedroom slave is situated on the first floor, more or less directly above the living room slave unit.

The router is connected vai cable to the slave. both the slaves are connected via wifi mesh.

Both slaves were set to auto connect to network. I then tried connecting to master direct over wifi. This has made no difference.

I have had these units for about 3-4 yrs. They we set up in my old home no problems. Moved house and set it up completely from scratch. No problems at first then about two months ago it started to get very un reliable. Sometimes the problem would occur once a week or so, not is it almost hourly they drop off. Nothing has changed in the locations oof the slaves or equipment around them.

It is getting very frustrating.

When your Satellite Deco are online, open their info pages in Deco app. You should see similar to this example info:

In this example Signal is Fair. Also, connection from Satellite to Main Deco uses three bands: 2.4GHz, 5GHz_1 and 5GHz_2.

Let me know what you have for both of your Satellite Deco. Screenshots will be very helpful.

I have also noticed, my laptop can be connected to deco mesh, the deco ap is showing internet working and full download speed but not internet access on laptop, even though it is connected to mesh.

From screenshots, I don't see any obvious problems with Satellite Deco and their connection to Main Deco.

Still, I would suggest moving Living Room Deco closer to Main Deco, you said they are 20 feet apart. Move Living Room Deco to 10-15 feet from Main Deco and see if this will improve this Satellite Deco stability.

Re:MP Plus slave units keep dropping off network

  @Alexandre.

Why would the distance suddenly become an issue, it was fine for 2-3 months, in their current locations?

I have moved both the slave units, the living room one is now about 4ft from main unit. I have moved the bedroom one nearer the door so it is closer to hall master.

I have run network optimization and getting medium strength signal on both slave units, i.e. no better or worse than before.

it was all fine and in the time taken to type this message, the main bedroom has gone off line.

My apologies, that's all I can help you with. Maybe someone else will read this topic and have other suggestions for you to try.

I have Deco M9 Plus in my Deco mesh. They do run stable with same firmware as yours.

Sometimes an influence outside of WiFi mesh is what impacts it. For example, if one of your neighbors got WiFi jamming device and plays with it.

Less extreme could be getting new microwave or cordless phone that interferes with WiFi mesh which did run perfectly well for long time.

Thanks for trying. Fingers crossed someone else will respond to this post. If I can't find a solution soon I will have to bin them and find an alternative system. Was planning to buy some TP link light switches, but that is on hold until I get this resolved.
