Model: Deco X50-4G
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

I recently upgraded my X50 to an X50-4G for better resiliency in case of ISP outage.

Unfortunately, X50-4G doesn't support OpenVPN as opposed to regular X50.

Can you please fix that missing feature as it is quite important for me?

Hello, thank you for posting on the TP-Link community, and we certainly appreciate all your feedback and feature request here.

I'll make sure to log this feature request and pass it along to the related team. But we don't have any specific details that I can share around if this feature can come to all your Deco model, or when it might, so it is also suggested to seek for other alternative options if the feature is very important for you.

Hello @Marvin_S,

Ideally it would be good if X50, X50-4G and X50-5G, could share the same base feature set. This would be more consistent your end users. When I bought my X50-4G, I didn't even check if X50-4G supports OpenVPN because X50 does support it. Sounds like I was wrong. Anyway, I appreciate your answer.

Regards

Hi, Deco X50, Deco X50-4G and Deco X50-5G are three different models. It is suggeseted to check the spefications and support page on the official webiste.

You may consider Deco X50-5G for VPN function and installed beta firmware as a workaround in this thread.
