Model: M7200
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 3.0.3

Firstly the Model is M7000 but this is not available to choose so I selected M7200.

I use the MiFi in a vehicle with 4 mini cameras connected to it; this sends alerts and allows me to view the cameras live, change settings on them etc.
I can do all of this from my mobile phone when not within WiFi range of the car, perfect.
I guess because that works I thought I could change settings on the MiFi unit, but in the app it states not connected, presumably as and I'm outside of it's WiFi range so can't. I get a similar response if I go to http://tplinkwifi.net
I had a lengthy online chat yesterday with a TP-Link agent, who tells me that I can do what I am attempting but I don't think I can? AM I missing something?

  @DavidCP

Hi, Thanks for the feedback.

M7000 doesn't support remote management via tpMiFi APP or web interface.

The remote access of the wifi cameras is not implemented via M7000. It is based on its own cloud server through the Camera Control APP. Many security cameras support remote management in a similar way.

Best regards.

I have no problem managing the cameras, I was hoping to manage the M7000 remotely i.e. from anywhere not just withinin WiFi range, but you say that is not possible. That is what I thought, but the TP-Link support agent said that it is possible.

  @DavidCP

Hi, Thanks for the update, and sorry for the inconvenience.

In this way, I'm afraid the support might misunderstand the issue.

The MiFi products have built-in batteries. It is portable and can be taken anywhere. Generally, the users should be within its coverage, so remote management hasn't been considered in the first place.

Deco X50-5G supports remote management via the Deco APP if you don't need a SIM router with batteries.

Thank you very much and best regards.
