Model: Deco X50-5G
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

My actual sistem: one Netgear router (NBR750 + 5G SIM) and three satellites (RBS750) connected via wired backhaul. WiFi 6

The problem: once in a while the router restarts.

When the router restarts (in spite of its UPS, good power supply etc. etc.) all my iOT devices tend to connect to it, being the first device to come alive.

But often, being connected to a distant wifi source/router (large house) they become unresponsive (weak signal - they do not re-connect automatically to the closest satellite, they are not very "intelligent" devices).

Consequently, once the whole system is online, I have to power cycle them to establish the optimal connection to the closest satellite.

Besides that the router is veeeery slow to switch automatically to its internal SIM card when the modem connectivity/Internet has problems.

No new firmwares available...They simly...forgot it...

For these reasons I am planning to go for a X50-5G Deco router

The question is: I need three satellites to connect to the main router via wired backhaul.

Which ones do you suggest?

Thank you!

I may be able to help with Deco model selection, but I need a bit more info from you:

1. Is your home LAN gigabit or 2.5Gigabit?

2. If your home LAN is gigabit, do you plan to upgrade it to 2.5Gigabit any time soon?

Asking this because  X50-5G Deco has gigabit Ethernet port(s) and 2.5 gigabit Ethernet port.

  @Alexandre.

Thank you for the prompt response!

My house LAN is 1GB only and I am not planning to change to 2.5 soon.

In this case Deco X50 and Deco X55 will be the best addition to your X50-5G Deco router. X50/X55 are very similar, choose set that is sold for less (or on sale).

If you want Deco units that do not stick out much, Deco X50-Poe is for you.

If you plan to have them all on Ethernet backhaul and want more budget friendly options, these would be Deco X20 and Deco X10.

It is OK to mix different Deco models, for example Deco unit on TV stand under TV could be Deco X50-Poe, and two other Decos could be of different model.

Mind you, with Deco mesh you might still have that problem with IoT devices connecting to wherever they pleased, instead of closest Deco unit.
