Model: Deco BE65
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.0.6

Hi,

If you have the 6 GHz network switched on, does the Deco BE65 use MLO for wireless backhaul even without the MLO network switched on? I don't have any WIFI 7 devices yet, so am looking to use the benefit of the MLO for wireless backhaul speed/latency primarily. The satellite connected by wireless backhaul says 'connected via 5Ghz/6GHz' regardless of whether MLO is on or off, so I'm not sure if it's actually working. If anything, LAN speeds through the satellite seem slightly slower with the MLO network switched on (500Mbps v 600Mbps @ 15m distance) - which doesn't make much sense.

Thanks!

Welcome to the community.

Whether MLO is switched on or off, Deco BE65 could use 5GHz and 6GHz for wireless Mesh Backhaul.

Enabling the MLO network is quite like broadcasting an extra 5GHz/6GHz network and it would interfere with the existing 5GHz/6GHz band.

Thank you very much and best regards.

I wonder this aswell, want MLO between the nodes. Does mlo network have to be activated for this?

@David-TP thank you very much. Does creating a guest and IOT network also create interference, or potentially affect bandwidth for devices on the main network?
