the end of last year I contacted global technical support on  https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/contact-technical-support/#E-mail-Support

And the good news they approved my request and they said they will release the official firmware that support OpenVPN + Wireguard Client feature and to be expected early-mid 2025.

in the meantime below is the pre release firmware for AX53 V1:

I have tried that public beta firmware, it has the OpenVPN Client feature however that function doesn't work even tho the status already "connected" to the VPN but when I check my IP Location still not change. btw I'm using ProtonVPN.

I hope TP-Link will release official firmware that support VPN Client feature because the "Public Beta" released already more than half a year ago.

  @Router_Review Hey brotha, I own AX53 AX3000 V1 as well..and I really need VPN Client Feature.. that would be useful nowadays.. come on TP-Link please add VPN Client Feature for AX53 V1...

this feature is very important for many AX53 V1 user.. please add this feature on the next firmware update!

This is a must, and if possible, a DoH/DoT option would be great to make DNS more secure for our home networks.

  @Refi I think tplink must release major firmware update for every Archer AX series wifi router. come on tplink Enginnering team lol
