Hi,

Got the following set up ONT-modem -> Only 1 Deco unit configured as router and connected to the ethernet port of the ONT-Modem-> Ethernet switch -> one tp-link powerline adapter connected to the ethernet port of the switch and a few powerline adapters around the house. My ISP is BT and I don't have digital voice with them. My connection is set as PPPoE no VLAN-ID.

Issue: My internet connection keeps getting disconected or the speed drops every few hours. After rebooting Deco all is fine. But I don't know what I'm missing.I'm lost at this point. I even tried to set the DNS as manual to see if things improve.

Questions:

1. Do I need to configure the modem as bridge and if so how? or my current set up is fine?

2. Deco and ethernet switch have some kind of incompatibility?

3. Same for Powerline adapters, do they have issues working togueter with the X10?

Thanks

  @alkanet

Hi, here are some information for your reference:

1. Do I need to configure the modem as bridge and if so how? or my current set up is fine?

- Maybe you could start setting Deco X10 into "Access Point mode" under Deco APP>More>Advanced>Operation mode. Keep the original BT hub as the main router.

2. Deco and ethernet switch have some kind of incompatibility?

3. Same for Powerline adapters, do they have issues working together with the X10?

- Deco X10 should work well with the Ethernet switch and powerline adapters. Can I have their model numbers?

Thank you very much and best regards.

Hi @David-TP,

If possible wanted to keep X10 as main router, on top I don't have BT router anymore.

The powerline adapters are PA9020P AV2000.

I was thinking to upgrade my network replacing all 4 adapters and deco X10 with 2 deco xe75 and 2 deco px90.

What do you think?

Thanks
