TIM Multicast settings
OS: Windows 11 64 Bit
Connection: TIM FTTC Fiber
Country: Italy
I need to configure TIM multicast, as requested by the same on this page in the "Fiber Connection" section (this forum doesn't let me post external links)
I need the step-by-step description on how to configure multicast (IPTV). I can't find a guide anywhere and support is not responding.
Thank you.

Unfortunately, my modem does not have the IPTV section, I will provide you with the official guide from my internet provider (TIM):
For optimized use (in multicast mode) of Video Live services on the TIM network, it is necessary to configure a second connection with the following parameters:
PROTOCOL: IPoE (Static IP)
IP ADDRESS: 10.10. 10.2
IP SUBNET: 255.255.255.252
VLAN: 836
IGMP Proxy v2: enabled, with forcing use of IGMPv2
Routing: multicast traffic
Furthermore, IGMP snooping must be enabled on the LAN interface.
Please note that the availability of a second connection and the related parameters on the modem/router is not binding for the use of Video Live services.

You can get the latest firmware for your device from here. Update to Archer_VR1200_v1_1.0.0 0.8.0 v600e.0 Build 220711 Rel.67869n version and check again.
From FW release notes it's compatible with your ISP - TIM. Since this modem router model is usually provided by an ISP you can contact them for help on that.
Probably the configuration should look similar to this:
This is if you use the VR1200 DSL port:
If you use the blue ethernet port you should change VR1200 operation mode to wireless router mode and use IPTV tab under Advanced.

I have Archer VR1200v and not Archer VR1200. I see that modems are very different, like VOIP, one has it, the other doesn't.
For VR1200v the last firmware is "Archer_VR1200v(SP)v1_1.0.0 0.8.0 v600e.0 Build 220626 Rel.52987n".

Except the 2x FXS additional ports on the back (for voice) and the up-to-date FW (for VR1200v), the directions I posted are still valid.

my internet provider has already activated multicast remotely, he told me that it will almost certainly not be necessary to activate it from the tp-link modem, but he is not sure about this.
What do you say? If multicast is already activated by the provider, is there no need to activate it from the modem too?

I have this error:
Error Code: 85048
Invalid gateway address. Gateway address must be in the same subnet as the network and the host number cannot be binary values of all 0 or 1.

This is because Gateway IP address can't be 0.0.0.0. I would try 10.10. 10.1 But it's best to call TIM tech support and ask them for these details, so you can configure your multicast settings properly.
