Model: Deco XE75
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I am currently operating a Deco Mesh with 4 X60 (V3) and 1 Deco X50 Outdoor (V1).

Until recently, I also had 2 X50s (V1.2) set up, but these led to frequent client disconnections. Since I took the two X50s off the network, the mesh has been running stable again.

But now I need at least one more access point to replace one of the deactivated X50s and improve range.

The main Deco is an X60. The mesh runs in router mode with around 70 devices, of which around 60% are connected to the IoT network (2.5GHz only) and the rest to standard Wi-Fi (all bands). When I reboot the Deco network, it takes forever plus an eternity until all devices are connected again, so I'd like to give the Main Deco a speed boost.

Hence, I'm playing with the idea of replacing the Main Deco (X60) with an XE75 and defining the X60 as a satellite. However, as I have had very bad experiences with the X50/X60 mix: is there anyone who already runs this setup or is there anything against trying this?

  @Antares173

I frequent this forum and noticed elevated number of complains for XE75 specifically. It might be that XE75 is an unlucky Deco model. I would recommend different Deco model: Deco X90 or Deco X95, which will deliver the best performance among models fully compatible with your WiFi mesh.
