Question about upgrading Deco M5 to Deco X60

Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.7.4

Hello Everyone,

I've been using Deco M5 for several years, but recently, I've noticed that my internet is not stable. I experience lag while playing games, and the Wi-Fi connection on devices like my wife's WPN keeps reconnecting for a few minutes before returning to normal. I suspect that my Deco M5, which has been in use for several years, might not be functioning well now.

My question is, if I upgrade all three of my Deco M5 devices to X60, will I need to reconnect all the devices that are currently connected to my M5's Wi-Fi? The reason I'm hesitating to upgrade is because I'm concerned that I'll have to reconnect all devices, such as my smart door lock and vacuum robot, if I switch to the new X60. Can anyone provide some guidance on this?

Thanks!

Regards,

Danny

  @Topmanpapa

Hi, welcome to the community.

You could refer to this link to "replace main Deco" and it will change the current Deco M5 to the newly purchased Deco X60 and keep the previous wireless settings:

How to Set up the Satellite Deco or a new Deco to be the Main Deco

Thank you very much and best regards.
