Model: TL-PA7017P
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Is it possible to have a functional network with multiple TL-WPA7517 but without a TL-PA7017 ?

I have a standard router connected to internet and want to extend this to an area that is electrically seperated from this location.

This second location will also require further extention in order to have a stable wifi signal along the building.

Yes, as you guessed correctly there's no master or slave unit.

Instaling a TL-PA7017 and connect it with an ethernet cable to the RE200 sounds reasonable if you can't run an ethernet cable between buildings.

This should be possible but the connection between your router and the first TL-WPA7517 has to be with an ethernet cable.

Between both buildings there is a small road with concrete slabs.

It's not that simple to get a cable over from one side to the other.

The connection between both has to go over wifi.

My initial question to work without TL-PA7017 was to know if this component functions as a 'master' (forgive me my ignorance).

Sice this seems not to be the case, I think the following is the better solution.

- Install a RE200 to connect to the house.

- Install a TL-PA7017 and connect it with an ethernet cable to the RE200.
