Hi,
Could you please be a bit more specific who or what fails to connect or recognize this device?
Does the other Powerline adapter not pair with the TL-WPA281 ?

My Virgin Media Hub 5 does not seem to want to connect to my TP-Link.
It does show, but I am u sure exactly what I need to do to connect it.
Does that help?

The most common usage scenario of Powerline adapters is like illustrated in the picture below.
Basically, one of the Powerline adapters is connected to the router via Ethernet cable and the two Powerline adapters are "paired" via a simple procedure (usually press a "Pair" button on each one of the adapters). That should be all that is needed to get it to work. Optionally the wireless settings of the TL-WPA281 can be changed to one's own liking.

There are two methods you can try. What works and what does not may depend on the hardware version of your TL-WPA281.
1) Provided your network is setup properly and functioning connect a computer (or any other device that has a web browser) to your network. Then log into the Virgin Media Hub 5, go to the page that shows a list of connected devices and look up the current IP address of the TL-WPA281. Then open the webpage of the TL-WPA281 via the link http://192.168.x.x (replace with the actual IP address of the TL-WPA281)
2) Use the tpPLC utility that can be downloaded from the TP-Link Support website and follow this article https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/1611/ .
By the way, a detailed user guide for the TL-WPA281 can also be downloaded from the TP-Link Support website
