Hello Support team,

I happen to check for updates after owning my Re450 for a couple of years and I see there have been 3 updates released.

Given my device seems to be working ok I don't want to be counterproductive with an update.  Is there a method to roll the unit back to its current version if dramas surface after an update?  If not, what changes should I expect with each of the 3 updates?

Cheers!

Hi, welcome to the community.

1.0.4 Build 20171220 Rel. 73615 the current version  Release notes

1.0.5 Build 20200914 Rel. 34203

RE450(AU)_V2_200914 Enhanced the system's stability and security.
1.0.6 Build 20210301 Rel. 16348 RE450(AU)_V2_210301 Modification and bug fixes:
1. Optimized security type
2. Fixed related bugs
1.0.7 Build 20211029 Rel. 57236 RE450(AU)_V2_211029

Release Note:
1. updated the version of the dropbear
2. fixed the compatibility problem with the killer adaptors

For RE450(EU/UK/DE/FR/US/CA/AU/AS/JP/KR/BR) 2.0

.

They could roll back to the previous versions. They are all small versions upgraded, and there are barely new-added features.

If there haven't been any issues with the current firmware, I think it's better to stay on the current version.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

If you're concerned about potential issues with an update, TP-Link might provide release notes or documentation detailing the changes in each firmware update. You can find this information on their official website or in the documentation that came with your device. Check for any specific bug fixes or improvements mentioned.

As for rolling back firmware, it's essential to note that not all devices support this feature. Some manufacturers provide the option to downgrade firmware, while others do not. Refer to the official TP-Link support resources or user manual for your specific model to see if downgrading is supported and, if so, how to do it.
