Model: Deco X73-DSL
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hi All,

I just received my X73-DSL to replace my older TP-Link modem/router but am having trouble setting up with the app just getting stuck on "Looking for Deco..."

I have tried the following:

- Set up in both router only mode and modem/router mode

- Connected to the Deco WiFi and not connected (i.e. letting it find itself)

- Given the Deco app all permissions

- 2 different phones, including re-booting, force stop and re-open of the app

- Using the reset button under the device

- Re-booting the device

- Using the web based setup (www.tplinkdeco.net) which just refers me back to the app

- RJ11 plugged in and not plugged in

Despite all the above and checking TP-LInk guides and set-up videos, I just cannot get past the "looking for deco..." screen on my phone.

Has anyone else had this issue or know of a way round?

Thanks in advance,

Brett

  @SBeck90 I have solved this issue. It's is something to do with the Android App.

@TP-Link

I have tried 2 devices for set-up including

Xperia 5II, Android 12

S20 Ultra 5G, Android 13

App version on both phones 3.0.19

Instead I was able to find the Deco using an iPhone (unsure of model) but iOS v16.1.1. Using the iPhone I found the Deco immediately and set it up, then I logged back into the Android app and it was there and I can now access the settings.

Instead I now have an issue where I cannot connect my VDSL using the same settings on my old Archer VR900 router.

ISP = Vodafone

PPPoE

VLAN 101

Annex A

Bit Swap - Enabled

SRA - Enabled

Deco X73-DSL

Firmware 1.0.5

Build 20211231

Rel 42213

Has anyone faced similar issues with PPPoe?

Thanks in advance

Just a quick point I forgot to add - without any set-up complete and the blue LED still flashing for set-up mode... I have plugged a patch lead in from my old modem/router and the Deco's WiFi is working strong with internet access. I just want to complete setup in the app so I can input my ISP login details and do away with the existing router.
