Archer VR1210v OpenVPN certificate generation TAKING HOURS
Hi folks,
I'm using the Archer VR1210v router with an ETH internet connection (it's a model only sold in Italy I believe). Everything has been working fine, and so I wanted to setup a VPN connection using the OpenVPN option. Since the instructions on the page said so, the first thing I did was click "Generate certificate". It has been several hours, and it still has not generated the certificate. I have tried everything to the extent of my knowledge, including:
- Running several pages with streaming services to generate more entropy for the router
- Changing the NTP servers
- Rebooting several times (including hard reboot)
- Backup config, factory reset, reload config
- ....
Every time I reboot or reload the config, it is still generating the cert. Perhaps it is restarting from scratch each time, but it has still been over an hour since the last reboot and no progress has been made. Please note that the "Enable VPN" checkbox was not marked when I clicked the button, but I cannot change it since all the buttons are blocked during generation. In the meantime I was able to get a PPTP connection to work (bad idea, I know...).
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
