Hi, 

I'm trying to help a friend who bought the AX3000 (AX55) and I need to know if it can be used as a wireless repeater / extender.

Nope, the Archer AX55 doesn't support being configured as a wireless extender or repeater, it can only be configured as Wireless Router mode or Access Point mode.

 

When working in Access Point mode, the Archer AX55 needs to be connected to the host router via an Ethernet cable. You can check this guide for details.

Nope, the Archer AX55 doesn't support being configured as a wireless extender or repeater, it can only be configured as Wireless Router mode or Access Point mode.
