Firmware Version:

Can this device broadcast multiple SSIDs?

Folks,  I have a TD-W9970 and recommened a TP-Link router to a friend, he bought an AC2100 VR600 v3

I do not have access to the configuration page so am assisting him over the phone, one issue, can this device broadcast multiple SSIDs on the WiFi?

He has used the guest network as a secondary WiFi but I was hoping to get him to use a second SSID in a vlan (as I do on my LAN).

VR600 only supports one SSID for 2.4GHz band and one SSID for 5GHz band (except the two guest SSIDs).

That is a wee bit of a disappointment though doubt it'll affect him much.

Can the guest SSID be put into a separate vlan?  I do this with the multiple SSIDs on my older TD-W9970 to enable me to keep my IoTs separate from a less congested and open subnet.

Nope, that can't be done either. Guest network can be isolated from your local network though - check VR600 v3 user guide - Chapter 8.2.

Your older TD-W9970 has a different FW and these features are not available in the new versions.
