Model: Archer C5
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 3.71.1 Build 20150908 Rel. 40831

I have tried a youtube video to configure mt tp link C5(CA) V2 router so that I can use it as an extender. The problem is that the opton for "operational use" does not appear when I log in the router. What is another way of doing this?

Hi,

Does the admin webpage of your Archer C5 V2 look like the picture below? If yes, then try if the WDS feature (circled in red) might work for you.

@woozle thanks for responding! Yes, it looks like your pic. So I'll try and see what happens. I've got another question on that  in case you know: I purchased the router in Canada but now I'm installing it in Argentina. Would this mean I'd have to write Argentina under region as opposed to Canada? (Even though I'm supposed to download updates from Canadian sites?) Thanks again.

Yes, if your router firmware has a region selector in the Wireless Settings menu, then select the country in which you are actually using the router.
