Model: Archer MR600
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hi I'm using this router for 4G at my cottage in Sweden. I have bought a directional external antenna and set that up above the roof. It might not be pointing correctly yet. But Im surpriced that it does not connect to internet at all. It works with low performance on another MIMO external antenna. As Im only using one antenna I only have one of two antenna inputs plugged in, but that works well on other routers. Can anybody advice me: 1. Does the router work with external antennas ? 2. Is the problem that Im only using one antenna and not two ? Am I missing some setting to switch to external antenna, I don't find any settings to do ? 4. Or is it just because the antenna is not pointing correct ?

The two external antennas are 4G LTE antennas, If you think that the original 4G antennas is not good enough to receive signals and insists on changing the antenna, please pay attention to the following points:

1) If you want to change, you must change two antennas at the same time, and the two replacement antennas should have the same specifications, because the two antennas work together. (There are two antenna interface on the router, you could also try to connect your external antenna to the other one on the router to see if it would be better)
2) For the replaced antenna, the interface type needs to be matched. The interface type of the two original antennas is SMA plug, that is SMA male
3) The frequency range supported by the replacement antennas should be the same as the original antennas. Please let us know the frequency range of your external antenna.
4) The distance between the two replacement antennas shall not be less than the distance between the original antennas.
