Model: Deco X68
Hardware Version: V20
Firmware Version:

I need and want a mesh system for our church and hoping the Deco can work for us.

Our church has a windows server/domain so we need to continue to use that server as our DHCP.  But we also want to provide guest wifi and would like to have the Deco provide DHCP ips for the guests.

Can it do that, disable DHCP on main network, but have it enabled for Guest.

Or possibly have the Deco only provide DHCP for wireless clients on both main and guest wifi, but have the server continue to provide DHCP for wired clients.

In that case can the Deco hand out half a /24 network

So I set the server to distribute x.x.x.1 to 128 and the Deco to hand out x.x.x.199 to 254

And are the Guest wifi users prevented from accessing anything on the wired/LAN side?  Hope so.

Any other suggestions appreciated.

Thanks.

  @ChurchAdmin

Hi, welcome to the community.

If there are two DHCP servers, windows server, and Deco X68, the devices connected to Deco would be in a different range.

For example: ISP--Windows DHCP server(xxx.xxx.1..1-xxx.xxx.1-128)----(WAN xxx.xxx.1.2)Deco X60(LAN xxx.xxx.68.1-254).

You could consider setting Deco under access point mode with guest network enabled.

Then the whole network will get IP addresses from the windows server and the wireless clients that are connected to the guest network will be separated from the host network.

What’s the difference between Access Point mode and Router mode on the Deco?

Best regards.
