my C4000 router has two USB connectors. I connected them to two USB disks for network storage.

can I give one disk with only "Network neighborhood" access while allowing another disk access through FTP(via Internet)? - in such case, I can store private data on the neighborhood accessed disk and shared them among my home members while allowing my friends or colleages to access the other disk.

Check Chapter 7.1 from your C4000 user guide and this guide for configuring the access of a USB storage device.

There's a possibility that the power provided by the C4000 USB ports is not enough to power the disks, you may try using a powered usb hub for the purpose.

Thanks Terziyski for taking the time to review my question title. However, I guess you missed the question body.

 

Basically, I have two USB disks all connected to the same router and working without issue. Now, I want to assign one disk for internal network access (i.e Network neighborhood access) and assign the other disk for internet FTP access (i.e FTP via internet), is this possible? Is so, how to config it?

Sorry for misunderstanding. I don't think you would be able to use the two disks at the same time as you want.
