Model: Archer AX20
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.5 Build 20211231 rel.53949(4555)

This is a problem that i've narrowed down to the router itself, as i have a virgin router (in modem mode) - and the sites which dont connect work fine on there.

I get the error: ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT when trying to visit a few websites, one of them being for a piece of software i use daily. They also work fine if i hotspot my 4G from my phone to my laptop.

I reset both the virgin hub and the AX20 back to factory settings, left unplugged overnight. And it worked, once. Then back to the same errors.

I changed the DNS' to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 but this made no difference, checked all the settings, parental controls etc.

The only thing I can think of, was the firmware update which was applied the night before these issues started happening, however i rolled back to the 2 previous versions available on the TP link website and tried them both - but nothing changed. I've used this router for 3-4 months now with absolutely no issues at all, any ideas or thoughts are appreciated!

I forgot to mention in the original post, yes - it worked when connected directly to the virgin hub. Which is why I'd narrowed it down to the TP Link router, but turns out it was a (weird) issue on virgins end which was resolved not long after putting this post up.

@Rjones94 Hello!

Try cloning MAC address in router's settings. If that doesn't help you, change MTU size to 1480.

@Rjones94

Thanks for reaching out to us.

If you connect your computer directly to your virgin router bypass TP-Link router, will you get the same issue?

If not, please try to clone your computer's MAC address to the TP-Link router and see if it helps.

You may refer to situation1 in this guide to conduct MAC Clone

How do I configure MAC Address Clone on my TP-Link Archer Router?
