Unit worked well for about 12 hours. Now both LEDs are off. Relocated to different outlets. Nothing. Tried to reset, even though no power LED on. Nothing. Virtual chat was no help. Probably a defective unit. Any ideas?

Do you mean device could not be powered on at this moment? Please try a different wall outlet or power socket, factory reset the extender, keep it in default state and see if the issue persists: RESET: With the extender powered on, use a pin to press the RESET button until most Leds flash once.
Btw, was there any power outage or thunderstorm recently, those could cause a hardware defect on the unit. If device still not be powered on, it could be a defective unit, and you could contact the retailer to check the device warranty.
