Model: Archer VR2800
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 0.7.0 0.9.1 v006c.0 Build 210313 Rel.74106n

I recently purchased an Archer VR2800 to replace the Sky router for use on Open reach cable broadband and every thing set up and works perfectly except my wife's laptop will no longer connect to her remote office PC.

The laptop uses a Xywall app with IPSec configuration and remote desktop application, which connects to the office just fine using the Sky router (and if connected to the web using a mobile hotspot), but not when the TP-Link router is installed.

I have very limited knowledge of networks, but I would think having VPN pass-through ticked in the advanced menu on the Archer should be enough to allow the existing VPN setup to work.

Am I missing something or are there other settings needed to allow use?

@Nake

Thanks for your suggestion, but I solved it in the end, which was one or both of the following;

1) I followed tech supports advice and entered settings for the VPN being used as a connection in the IPSec settings.

2) Doing the above forced me to change my local IP addresses to a different sub net than the remote server end, so local are now 192.168.2.xx and the remote using 192.168.1.xx

@Nake

You could try if reducing the "MTU Size" for the Internet connection (Advanced tab -> Network -> Internet -> Modify -> Advanced) makes any difference.

Maybe go straight down to 1400.

If that makes no difference with regards to the VPN connection, then just set it back to the original value, because the MTU Size is not the problem then.
