Is it possible to use the ML3220 with an Android phone that is currently using USB tethering?

I've tried it, and it says "3G/4G USB MODEM: Identified" yet I can't get an IP address.

Is there a way to get a direct IP from the phone instead of using APN settings?

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Nexus

This is a good try.
It seems that TPLINK never officially announces their 3G router can works with USB tethering.
From your description, the modem is able to be identified by the router. This is a good sign. Maybe, you need to check the APN and dial number. Then manually enter those onto the router.

@arashster

With a 3G phone it worked very well and know, woth 4G, I'd like to use one of my three MR3020 with an old 4G phone as a modem.

No news here about?
