Hi all,

I have a question about DOS PROTECTION in the "Security > Advanced Security" menu.

I noticed that the different settings - when left at their default values- can affect my Internet connection (e.g no internet after a while) especially when I use a VPN.

For now I left the DOS Protection enabled and set the following values which seems to be all right for me :

Packets Statistics Interval => 10 (The default value is 10)
ICMP-FLOOD Packets Threshold => 1000 (The default value is 50)
UDP-FLOOD Packets Threshold => 1000 (The default value is 500)
TCP-SYN-FLOOD Packets Threshold => 50 (The default value is 50)

Ignore Ping Packet From WAN Port => Enabled

Now has anyone found any recommendation / experience regarding the settings above ?

Regards

As I understand, DOS PROTECTION is a mechanism to protect the router itself.
If there is a large amount traffic going through the router, the router may view them as a danger, so will block it.
So the connection speed may be slowed... My personal guessing only...
