Model: Archer AX73
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hi

.

I have enable FTP access to USB file sharing. Access via SMB is acceptable speed and also  via FTP if connected within same wifi network also acceptable but when accessing from outside network using ftp client access will be very slow or cant access at all with network error msg. Authentication from outside network is ok but access got problem.

I have other option which is connect to router using vpn and access usb share using smb. it will give acceptable speed as well but why if not using vpn and access though ftp its really not stable. to access via vpn will require additional step hence it easier using ftp but seem like not stable and very slow.

another question is why usb file sharing access is very basic on ax73. older tplink router can support multiple user with subfolder support but ax73 is very basic supporting only 2 prelisted account (admin &visit) and no subfolder support. its new router should have btter control feature over usb support. Is there any plan to have more feature on upcoming firmware?

@ShukriMN

Can we have a comparison test when accessing the USB file in the local network and via FTP from outside? If possible, you can take a video when accessing the file via FTP from outside, thanks.

BTW, we have reported the issue to the support engineers, they will likely reach out to you via email to continue to troubleshoot your issue. You can confirm and check.

  @ShukriMN

I have same problem.

Problem with ftp access from external locations.

I prepared short video. I can post it to the right person.

It is working some time, then stop. I have to switch off this service and swich on, then it is working again. After some days again not available from external locations.

Locally is working fine with no problems, at least till today.

regards

RB
