Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hello I was setting up my Deco M5 mesh today.I got to the part where it says create network. The app told me to use numbers,letters and symbols/characters, every password came up as invalid. Someone from Virgin Media told me to try just using numbers and letters which worked.

Can I please ask, are any special characters allowed or is it just number and letters. If this is the case I am bitterly disappointed. Thank you

@friedeggs

Hi, I have not tested all the characters that are allowed.

But Currently, with the latest App, Deco with firmware up to date should be able to use most of the English characters($@#%*-_!? are tested all good).

So May I know which characters you have tested that are not allowed?

PS: the Pound symbol £ and the Euro symbol € are tested not allowed.

Hi, thanks for replying. I cannot remember which characters, but they woud have probably included ones like £ $ %?, nothing unusual. I ending up using just letters and numbers. I don't want to have to change again as one of my devices is a camera high up and it means scanning a barcode on my phone with the camera. So letteres and numbers will have to suffice, shame

Just seen the bit about the £ symbol, that must have been the guilty one
