Model: Deco X90

ISP Speed: 500 Mbps download, 100 Mpbs upload

 

 

I having 2 issue:

1> Speed Capped at 100 Mbps under router mode

2> Speed Capped at 100 Mbps under AP mode after perform "Network Optimization"

 

Issue 1:

My ISP provide 500 Mbps download and 100 Mbps upload. With original router given, no problem to reach the maximum speed.

Just received the X90 unit yesterday, trying to setup as "Router" mode with setup below:

 

Broadband modem ==> Deco X90 (main) ==> Deco X90 slave

 

Before I setup the slave unit, I test the speed with main unit, it capped at 93+ Mbps, both upload and download. Either using ethernet (CAT 6) or WiFi, from laptop or my iPhone 12 Pro Max (Wifi 6).

 

Troubleshoot:

1> Set Vlan either with preset ISP setting or custom correctly

2> Turn off UPNP

3> Turn on QoS and set the limit to 1000 Mbps

4> Turn off QoS

 

All above not working, speed still capped at 93+ Mbps.

I change to "Access Point" mode by the setup below:

 

Broadband modem ==> Original Roter ==> Deco X90 (main) ==> Deco X90 slave

 

The speed limit problem has been resolved. My speed jump to 510+ Mbps download with 110 Mbps upload (at main unit).

I cannot run at AP mode as I want to take out my original router and link the Deco X90 to a switch TL-SG108E. I need this issue to be resolve.

 

Issue 2:

So I try to run under AP mode, when perform "Network Optimization" with Deco Apps, the speed drop to under 100 Mbps immediately after this process. I have to turn off the power and restart the unit (pull the power cable out and reconnect), it back to full speed (under AP mode). This is not a criticle issue as long as I control my figure don't touch that button in the Apps.

 

Deco X90 is the highest range product, which very costly price, I really expect a seamless experience but look like I paying more to get in to trouble? Hope this can resolve fast.
