@TP-Link  I've been on this VR2100 firmware for eight days and have had 11 reboots, 3 of them this afternoon.

My ISP used Dynamic IP so config is very simple. Modem is otherwise vanilla config.

I suspect this issue has been happening since I bought the modem last year and was the real culprit while I churned through a couple of ISPs due to perceived reliability issues.

@TP-Link  19 reboots in 18 days. Is something not releasing memory?

@garglebutt

Thank you very much for your kind feedback.

Sorry for the delay and I would like to forward your case to the senior engineers for further assistance.

May I know who is your internet service provider now?

Did Vr2100 work as a wireless router or DSL modem router?

Since one week passed, how about the rebooting times at this moment?

Thanks a lot.

@TP-Link

Aussie Broadband

DSL modem

I swapped my VR2100 out for a week with an older modem as my children have exams and can't have interruptions to their internet access. I swapped it back earlier today and am up to 20 reboots.

@Kevin_Z

@TP-Link

I have loaded the beta software as advised and can see continual reboots. I raised a ticket and was told to just turn back to the most stable version but I have not been able to find a stable version -  both the latest release version and the beta code I’m currently using from above link are causing continual reboots - up to 20 now. I have informed support of this but not received any reply for 2 days.

I also enabled a nightly reboot schedule as advised by the support team to see if this helps but so far I have still had 4 reboots during the day. Due to COVID the family is working from home so we need a reliable connection. I've just had another reboot which took about 5 minutes to recover right in the middle of a very important work video conference call with one of my customers - so this is becoming a critical issue for me.

Can you please update on a fix as otherwise I will have to return the router as faulty and buy another brand which will be a big shame as I really like your product but will not have any option - I just simply cannot have a router which just keeps rebooting randomly when i am trying to work.

@SilverFang  - I'm afraid I am with you on that one. I just had a response again from the support teams saying this:

"We are still investigate on how to solve it totally~
And we can also try other method like replacing this device with other models which doesn't have the trouble of rebooting."

I've looked at other tickets on the support site and I see this problem has been going on for almost 18 months now as I see other people reporting the same issue back in Jan 2020. I'm not sure what they mean by the second sentence above - are they saying I should just keep buying other TP-Link devices in the hope I find one which works?
