How about the LEDs Status on this range extender?
If signal Led on 855RE is off, you could do a factory reset tp-link range extender and resintall it through Tether app or Web page
Reset: : press the reset hole for 10 secs with RE powered on

If signal Led is On on this extender, what is the Error message when you try to connect to Ext wifi?
May I know the model of your router and network topology?Does extender use a different WIFI name from router?
