Model: TL-WR902AC
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

Hi together,

I can´t connect my WR902AC to my network and I don´t understand why.

I hope I have correct config the WR-device.

I have a fritzbox 6360 cable.

The fritzbox GW works on ip 192.168.178.1 / 255.255.255.0 and the field is form 178.20 to 178.200

I reseted the WR902 and can login at this.

Know I understand I have to setup it with client -> enter SSID (i find it with the scan - it shows me wpa2/tkip) and the key -> the SSID is not public visible, there is also a MAC-Filter and I added the Mac-Adress (I hope the correct) into the fritz-box -> static ip 178.18 and no dchp.

After this I can´t login to the router and the wlan-light is blinking.

Any ideas?

thanks and regards

@Kevin_Z

Now I find the sollution, it was really the WPA/WPA2 option in the fritzbox.

I thought if I choose both in the fritzbox, then it takes one of the best (WPA2) but it isn´t so.

Now I choose only the wpa2 option and now it works.

thank you for your help.

After you configured the WR902AC to Client mode successfully, and connect it to the PC with an Ethernet cable, will the PC be able to get a correct IP address from the fritzbox 6360? If yes, please try to do a ping test (ping the gateway on the PC) and reply with the results:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/425/

Please refer to this guide to double-check the settings on the WR902AC, ensure all the settings are correct:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2031/

You are suggested to disable the MAC filter on the fritzbox 6360 first, then check again if the WR902AC can connect to it fine.

@Kevin_Z

Hi Kevin,

thanks for reply...

the pc get the IP Adress from the IP range of the tp-link 168.0.100 but I think that is not correct.

I can´t ping the fritzbox. (timeout)

I think, there is no correct connection to the fritzbox, because no IP from the fritzbox (ip-range)

If I chose Smart IP then I can´t change the IP Adresse and the adress that I can see is not in my network.(I see 192.168.0.1 and I have 178.1)

The SSID(to be bridged): is the ssid from the fritzbox, correct?

I can only login to tp-link, if the dhcp server on and not out, and I see in the basic settings (wireless) the following information:

"...We do not recommend using the TKIP encryption if this device operates in 802.11n mode due to the fact that TKIP is not supported by 802.11n specification..."

Is this the problem?

thanks

Try to choose Static IP on the WR902AC when configuring, ensure that IP is in the same IP subnet of that of the fritzbox, then check again if the PC will get the correct IP from the fritzbox.

As for the wireless security TKIP, I guess you are using the TKIP version on the fritzbox, and you need to choose the same version on the WR902AC. You can leave that on the fritzbox, or you may try to change it to AES, which is considered more secure for a network.
