Terrible Performance Archer T4E
Hi,
I've recently installed a trash TPLink Archer T4E into my PC. It performs poorly. In every configuration example, it matches my upload speeds but is nowhere near my expected download speeds. The maxmium my speedtest could be is 200Mbps download and 40Mbps upload. Below is the driver details, speedtest from my T4E on 2.4GHz, speedtest from my T4E on 5Ghz , speedtest from my mobile phone and the associated client on my Technicolor router. Please explain why this is much less than my phone with what I assume is a tiny and cheaper wireless card.
Driver details
5 Ghz Speedtest
2.4Ghz speedtest
Mobile Phone in close proximity
Please resolve, i've tried the latest driver and various channel and interface configurations on my Technicolor DGA4130
Slightest Regards
James

@JamesB2004 Hello,
Thank you for your detailed information, it is recommended to try this chipset driver for T4E and see if speed gets better.

@JamesB2004 Hello,
I sent you the drivers for Archer T4E only, from above link, if you extract the zip file it looks like this :

@Solla-topee The "drivers" folder doesnt contain an inf file. Windows wont let me install a driver from there. Therefore I have to use the win10x64 folder which gives me the selection listed above. Which driver should I use?

@JamesB2004 Hello,
It looks like you chose the wrong folder when try to update driver. It is recommended to create a separate folder for T4E zip file ( less than 12M from the link I sent ) and put zip on Desktop.
Extract the zip file , you will see Windows10X64, from that path, there is an inf.file.

@Solla-topee Hi Solla,
Yes and when I click on that inf file, it gives me the list of drivers I gave you 2 days ago. Which one do I use?
Maybe I'll be more direct, which realtek chipset is in use on this card?

you should play with antenna directions and try to eliminate as many obstacles as you can between router and adapter
use ping command and find position where you get stable 1-2ms response on 5g network

@fnam even though my PC says "wrong driver" and I get worse performance using that driver? I put my phone in exactly the same spot and get 200mbps down and 40mbps up and you are telling me that things might be in the way?
This device is rubbish,I would highly reccomend people do not buy it. Based on out of box experience, support experience.

did you even try different antenna directions? did you try to run ping command and get stable 1-2ms response time?
my phone also performs better in exactly same spot.
ive been struggling with this device 1.5 year ago

now its pretty stable with latest (and only) driver available on support page and proper antenna position (on 5g).
if you can return it to shop then do it. but if you want to fix it try my advise.
