2.4 ghz printer only works on 5ghz connected devices
This is weird thing that is happening.
I have a HP deskjet 3540 and the printer supports 2.4ghz wifi as it shows the same on the router.
However I can't even ping the device if I'm connected via the 2.4ghz band.
I've tried disabling the SPI firewall etc.
The strange thing is I can connect via the 5ghz band and I can ping the router that way can someone tell me why this is happening all the settings are set to default I haven't changed anything as such.

Are they both connected to the main network? Please check they are both connecting to the main/primary network, but not connect to the guest network.
It is suggested to try a hard reset (Method 1) and re-configure from scratch to see if that will resolve the problem.

Does it mean you can only ping and access the printer when the computer is connected to the C80 5G network (HP deskjet 3540 is on 2.4G)? Are they both connected to the main network?
Is the C80 working in router mode or AP mode? It is suggested to try a hard reset (Method 1) and re-configure from scratch to see if that will resolve the problem?

Hi,
The printer doesn't support 5GHz networks so it connects to the 2.4GHz.
If my laptop is on the 2.4 GHz I can't connect to my printer. Its present on the network but I can't ping it. If I switch my laptop to the 5GHz band I can then connect to said printer which is on the 2.4GHz band.
I'm in the wireless router mode.
